Details:
NS selected the EVA+ software as a tool for the newly created ERTMS Centre having simulators for training, doing verification and validation with a group of experts with cutting edge operational knowledge. The Centre is also used to develop programs for ERTMS operation and related training. NS recognized the benefit of using the recorded data from the JRU and saw the opportunity by using EVA+ modules for monitoring the fleet, improving the operation and also supporting the instructions and trainings for the drivers. At the same time, driving instructors wanted to study the driving behavior in order to create better and more practical driving rules. The recorded data was also used for improving operational concepts under ERTMS and helped to predict all types of critical events by analyzing such data.
